This is my newest piece of Carbon-fiber fetishery. For those of you who didn’t know I’m quite the cycling fan, a Team CSC fan and a Cervélo fan. And of course no fan of Team CSC and Cervélo fan would be complete without the Soloist Carbon.
The bike is the best ride I’ve ever had, it’s smooth, handles well and has little rolling resistance. Perfect for racing.
I’ve had the privledge of meeting many of the Team CSC riders and managers and they all say that the bike is just a dream to ride - I agree! Many would say it’s not the tools of the trade that makes you the #1 team in the world, but you can’t win Tour de France stages on a childrens bike or a mountain bike. I would love to see someone average 40-45km/h for 3-5 hours on a mountain bike and keep up with the riders.
Anyway, back to the bike. The curves and angles on this bike are just gorgeous, the tubes have a wonderful shape but I just have this little feeling sometimes that if I hit a bump a wee bit too fast the whole frame will snap in half and send me flying. Ouch.
Any serious cyclist should get this bike. I’d recommend getting a bottle of Armor All to keep the finished surface of your bike beautiful.
